We are pleased to inform you that our sales activities aimed at key accounts (multi-national retailers) started to bear fruit this year.
In January, we finalized the order from Pick'n Pay, the number one retailer in South Africa, for 1,458 units of the SM-300 and 300 units of the GP-460.
In February, we successfully installed the FX-3600 and AW-3600CP at Auchan stores in France. In March, we had AW-3600AT, AW-3600CP, AW-3600CP Auto, W-3600CPR, DPS-90 and DI-3600 with SYA platform listed as the approved products to Carrefour in Europe, and already have orders in France and Portugal. We hope we will soon be able to get more orders in other countries too. Renald Ringuette and his team at DIGI France contributed a lot to these successes.
In March, we could get an order from Albertson's in the USA for 2,900 units of the SM-90B with Touch Screen. We had been working to make a breakthrough to Albertson's for many years and finally could succeed in it.
Teraoka Singapore (TWS) has done a lot to make this successful. Liaw Fong Chong, a manager in R & D at TWS, even worked during the Chinese New Year Holiday to complete a program for Albertson's at an urgent request coming from Mike Schaefer of NBI. Mike Schaefer has also done a great job together with Jack Burton and other people involved at NBI. Erik Gochko, a software engineer of NBI, has worked very closely with TWS engineers. Under Liaw, Ma Hong Mei has contributed so much in the software development to meet the Albertsons requirements. This was really a team effort.
In April, we signed the global agreement with Metro.
Accordingly, we are now promoting the sales of DIGI in each country. We have already installed our products and made a service contract in Germany. Yujiro Sato and Stefan Rolke of DIGI Deutschland Gmbh contributed a lot to this success with Metro. In the past, Metro only listed our wrapping machines for use in its group stores. This year, not only wrapping machines, but also the SM type scales have been listed.
In May, we became an official supplier of the scale products for Geant Casino. Yakodo Plus received 2 orders for new hyperstores in Poland.
The orders include for each store:
SM-500EB-S (wireless) - 22 units
SM-500H-L (wireless) - 4 units
AW-3600CP Auto + Ethernet -1 unit
DPS-3600 + Ethernet - 2 units
DI-160/S-YA 30kg - 1 unit
DI-160/S-YB 60kg - 2 units
Mariusz Jamro and his team at Yakudo Plus worked hard to realize this breakthrough.
In addition to the achievements already mentioned, we hope to report to you again at the end of this year with many more successes.

ECOA, a new trend in Japanese supermarket stores
Health care is an issue becoming important not only in Japan, but around the world as well. There are many companies that have successfully expanded their business into health care products. Environmental protection has also become a major issue all over the world.
We, at Teraoka, developed and launched water purification equipment - the model "ECOA" , into the domestic market two years ago, and is sold mainly to supermarket stores. Since the launch, the Teraoka Domestic Sales section has successfully marketed the ECOA and the sales have increased 40 percent compared with last year at this stage.
Once a supermarket installs the ECOA equipment, the store advertises ECOA and invites customers to become members. When a customer applies to be an ECOA member, the store sells the bottle, two liter or four liters, to that customer. The customer can put the purified water from the ECOA machine into that bottle as many times as the customer wants just by putting in the appropriate amount of money.
The average price of the purified water from ECOA is amount Yen 100 per four liters.
Member customers can enjoy the healthy, pure water provided by ECOA, with very small expense. On the other hand, supermarkets stores which have installed ECOA get attention from customers, including their frequent visits, leading

ECOA, water purification equipment becoming a new method to attract customers. |
Model: ECOA
The technology Teaoka uses for ECOA is Reverse Osmosis (RO) that has been developed in the United States of America to be used in the atomic submarine to change sea water into drinkable water, as well as in the space shuttle to change urine into drinkable water.
ECOA is the system that uses the principle of RO to remove 95-99% of all the mineral and chemical contaminants from raw tap water.
