The 1st issue of the DIGI News Bulletin was published in 1984. The editor, Kaz Koyama who founded the communication magazine, mentions in his "From the Editor" section celebrating the 1st publication, "The purpose of the News Bulletin is to provide a forum for sharing your news, opinions and business information with your colleagues around the world and all DIGI friends. We firmly believe the News Bulletin will play a key role in strengthening DIGI's market position and lead to closer friendship among DIGI distributors."
I, Yoshiko Nagata, the editor-in-chief from the 2nd issue, (Toru Sato, Editor from No. 22 to 29), have kept the founder's intentions in mind since then, all the way through this publication- No.50. It is a great pleasure to have had the first hand opportunity to bring the news from DIGI family members worldwide, and introduce them to the world via DIGI News Bulletin. The number of news items, the number of nations, and the number of DIGI products introduced in the DIGI News Bulletin has drastically increased, in step with the expansion of the DIGI distribution network and Teraoka/DIGI's business operations for twenty years. Now the DIGI News Bulletin is delivered to more than 100 DIGI distributors, more than double the 43 distributors that received the 1st issue published.
The "DIGI Family" describes our relationship exceeding the business partnership. The DIGI News Bulletin has been really supported through these strong ties, and has continued to be published. Taking this opportunity, I would like to show my big appreciation to everyone who has provided me with the news and support just on time, for many years. The DIGI News Bulletin will continue to grow and bring you the worldwide news. I quote former Kaz's message on the 1st issue, for your continuous support from now on, "The success of the new venture depends on you. Remember, It's your News Bulletin. So, make a point of sending any interesting new items, stories and photos to the Editor, Marketing Planning Office, Teraoka Seiko Co., Ltd. They will be much appreciated."
At last, hereby I would like to show my special thanks to Ms. Janet Stucky who has edited from the USA, and Mr. Tsutomu Okuma who has worked for the production since No. 3 issue, always having lots of patience.
(Yoshiko)
