DIGI World Meeting 2004 was held in Singapore on September 30 and October 1, hosted by Teraoka Weigh-System Pte. Ltd. Managing Director Akihiko Kuroiwa opened the meeting and welcomed DIGI family members from all over the world. More than 150 delegates participated from 47 nations, including the delegates of nations participating for the first time: Argentina,Chile, Ecuador, Israel and Bulgaria.
In line with Teraoka/DIGI's 70th anniversary, the theme for the meeting was "70 YEARS WEIGH TO SUCCESS". Innovation is the hallmark of Teraoka/DIGI history and destiny since the late Takeharu Teraoka founded Teraoka Seiko Co., Ltd. in 1934.

Following this theme, Kazuharu Teraoka, CEO of Teraoka/DIGI group companies first showed our innovation with our World-First products during our 70 year history. Next focusing on the New Balance for the future, CEO Teraoka presented the principle for steady growth, as seen from the points of views of Product Solution, Service and Supply. Backed by Teraoka's successes in Japan, this message was well received by the representatives.

Highlighting innovative development, Teraoka/DIGI group companies presented a wide range of new products developed from new concepts. Among them: SM-700 video display, SM-800 with RF Hi-Touch & ESL, SM-800 Transparent Display, and a new checkout scale of DS-980. The new wrapper AW-4600 was presented with new technology including four labeler units for more flexibility. Representing the DIGI distributors, John Baumann of NBI showed the simple installation of a communication tool "Plug N Weigh" backed up with the successful installation in the United States. Other presentations included Traceability, new food industry products AP-700 and LIS-D1, and RF Tag Technology. From the marketing angle, DIGI distributors presented a number of success stories from the Ukraine, Poland and Australia.

The 2nd day of group sessions allowed the delegates closer contact with new products, ideas and concepts. That was a good opportunity to encourage greater interaction with the presenters and products, generating more questions and answers based on their markets.
The meeting was closed with a speech by Ari Lehtinen of PM DIGI Oy, who gave his impression that he has very positive opinions about DIGI products and DIGI family members for over 15 years, and on behalf of all the distributors, conveyed appreciation to Teraoka/DIGI group members for its excellent organization of the meeting.
Taka Hattori, International Marketing Manaer of Teraoka Tokyo organized a good surprise by presenting DIGI Awards at this year's DIGI World Meeting. CEO Kazuharu Teraoka presented the plaque of DIGI Hall of Fame to Bill Wedderburn of W.W. Wedderburn Pty. Ltd., John Baumann for Louis Bonapace of NBI, and Frank Smart of Teraoka S.A. In addition, the other DIGI Award plaque was presented to John Baumann and Bill Wedderburn for the celebration of 30 years of partnership with NBI and W.W.wedderburn Pty. Ltd.
