Report from Netherlands
AP-700 has a good reputation in the Benelux market

The AP-700U3 in full operation with three upper cassette-labellers controlled by one console for labelling "fresh bread" packages
Olaf De. Haan, Sales Engineer of DIGI Nederland b.v., feels very proud of the sales deal of the AP-700U3 to the bakery industry
DIGI Benelux (DIGI Belgium nv and DIGI Nederland bv) has recently sold the 45th AP-700 System since its debut in 2006, and concludes that the AP-700 has a good reputation in the Benelux market.
The AP-700 is a highly versatile "All Purpose" labeller system that has been sold to industrial customers who pack and label a wide variety of products like bread, fruits, vegetables, salads, mushrooms, sliced meat and meat substitutes.
All users of the AP-700 are very satisfied with its simple, accurate and flexible operation. The unique cassette label loading simplifies use for every operator.
Easily creating and managing labels for WindowsR is done by the "Dr. Label" software either on the AP-700 console directly or on an upstream PC with use of "Dr. Server" software. Most customers using multiple AP-700 systems make use of this "Dr. Server" software sharing labelling information. Data created on the upstream PC can even be imported from the customer's ERPsystems database and shared with the downstream AP-700 labelling systems to produce and manage labels easily and correctly.
Another advantage is that the AP-700 system is available in a wide range of models, making it possible to select the best system for every individual customer's specific work environment.

Extra cassettes are loaded with label paper for quickly switching cassettes on the labeller when necessary

For example:
The industrial bakeries in the Netherlands are producing bread during the night and deliver the "fresh bread" packed and labelled to the supermarkets in the early morning.
To minimize production disruption, these bakeries mostly use the AP-700U2, a two upper cassette-labeller system controlled by one console, and the AP-700U3, a three upper cassette-labeller system controlled by one console. During office hours, staff members in the office design the labels and the data is sent to all the AP-700 systems. Extra cassettes are loaded with label paper in advance and during the late evening and night, the production staff can very quickly switch cassettes on the labellers when necessary.

DIGI Benelux is very happy with the AP-700 product range and are confident that the good reputation established in the market will lead to more sales of these "All Purpose" cassette labeller systems in the near future.

DIGI Korea Weigh System Co., Ltd. received a one-off-order for 636 units of SM-100 Plus series from Lotte Super, the supermarket section of the Lotte Group in Korea. They chose DIGI for installation at their new stores and replacement of other brand scale systems after they analyzed several brands in 2006. Lotte Super chose the DIGI SM-100 Plus because of the network solution with the wire/wireless application.
Lotte Group operates various kinds of businesses such as Department stores, Discount stores, Supermarkets, Convenience stores, Fast food restaurants and others in the retail distribution industry. Lotte Super is the No. 2 retailer in Korea with 73 stores. Lotte Super announced their aggressive plan to increase the number of stores to 100 stores by 2008. In Japan, Lotte brand is well established as a confectionery maker, operates fast food shops, and owns a baseball team.
The installation was completed in about six weeks with the full cooperation of DIGI Korea supported by Shanghai Teraoka. Now DIGI SM-100 Plus can be seen at Lotte Super sales counters such as delicatessen, salad bar, fish, fruit & vegetables, bakery and butchery.

Report from USA
SM-500 installations exceeding 22,000

Alan Chase, Service Manager of NBI dealer Market Supply of Portland, Oregon trains a WINCO store clerk on the operation of the SM-500 number 22,001.
NBI installed the SM-500 type scale number 22,001 and reached a new milestone. The record-breaking scale was installed into the WINCO store located in Puyallup, Washington. The SM-500's scale design is the most successful retail scale ever marketed by NBI in the USA.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the DIGI R&D team in Sinapore for their invaluable support in making this record possible. The original hardware design was built to provide a cost-effective package with sufficient capacity to adapt to new and changing customer needs. This was the first DIGI design to use flash ROM and standard Ethernet computer interface. The mechanical design used a totally new cassette label feed system and was the first DIGI scale to use a cassette which fed labels to the front for easy operator access to the printed label.
The new hardware allowed the DIGI R&D team in Singapore to implement many new software features. One of the most important features was the Frequent Shopper Discount function. This feature came about just as major supermarket chains were implementing these types of programs into their stores. This feature helped NBI/DIGI open new accounts. DIGI R&D team's software support has since kept up with changing market requirements. One of those changing requirements has been the application of wireless Ethernet networking. NBI has been selling and installing SM-500 type scales with wireless interface for over 5 years, now over 6000 scales are operating successfully in wireless networks.
One customer controls all PLU data in all scales installed in 33 states from one central location, through a wireless network. Wireless Ethernet was not part of the original design specification. However, since the SM-500 scale was originally designed to utilize standardized Ethernet protocols, it was modified and adapted to this new specification without a total re-design effort.
NBI is very proud to announce that the SM-500 type has been well received in the USA market and is now reaching a new sales milestone.

Kasumi Yashio store managing sales counter business together with self service business
Kasumi Supermarket, one of the leading regional supermarkets is operating more than 130 stores in the outskirts of Tokyo. Teraoka/DIGI has worked with Kasumi to develop a new operational system in which the PDA (Personal Digital Assistant or Personal Data Assistance) is the main component in the system. Standing on the in-store floor, a PDA pointed at the commodity display shelves can direct product price revising and checks as well as promotional flyer printing. It is a powerful tool for the workforce, especially for the produce section where prices are changed and the daily price has to be arranged quickly and accurately before stores open. The installation testing started in April 2006 and since then Teraoka/DIGI has worked to complete the system to meet Kasumi's requirements. Since March 2007, the system has been installed with Teraoka/DIGI POS ECR, including Self POS scanning system "JOYPOS" into 27 stores scheduled in 2007.

Tritanu) with SM-300H on Buchery & Fishery Counter.
TipTop Supermarket opened a new store in PondokGede, Bekasi, in the eastern part of Jakarta, in early September. P.T. Tritanu has supplied wireless scales SM-300P and SM-300H. TipTop Supermarket is the first local supermarket in Indonesia that has used RF-Bridge Wireless for their network communication.
It was a tough effort to convince TipTop of DIGI's superiority because all their existing stores have been using another brand of scale for more than 10 years. Tritanu put 1 unit SM-300P wireless at an existing store for trial for five months to prove DIGI's quality that the scale can work properly on their system. And it was successful.
At the opening ceremony, Mrs. Rennita Rusman, Administration & IT Director, said, "the reason TipTop Supermarket chose DIGI is because it is a better product, and the supplier, Tritanu, has shown better service"
