Dynamic progress in the Meat Industry with the new system developed
To respond to the needs of the meat industry, Yakudo has implemented a system to record and then process orders from their clients such as shops, warehouses, restaurants. The logistic department of the meat factory has been equipped with sets of DI-760 PC-based indicators, 1 or 2 scale platforms (standard and with roll conveyor belts) and TVP-3000 printers, and Yakudo's original software program. The warehouse workers choose appropriate orders and then finish them according to the list of items. All documents and labels necessary can be issued there. With records of each operation, the system can create different kinds of reports. Yakudo successfully installed in Handerek meat factory, 14 sets based on DI-760 with 2 functional groups (with different software): 8 sets with logistic software and 6 sets with labelling software.

Report from Brazil
Working together with a major supermarket supplier of fresh vegetables, Sunnyvale quickly proves the value of the DIGI wrapper in the market

Robert Michels (left), General Manager of Hydrosalads and Marcelo-Gil, Sunnyvale's Sales Manager
DIGI is a pretty new name in the Brazilian marketplace. Sunnyvale started to market the DIGI wrapper two years ago, and soon realized that they faced long-time entrenched obstacles for the development of this machinery into Brazilian retail shops.
Most Brazilian supermarkets still display fruits and vegetables both bulk and packaged side-by-side, but the bulk display accounts for almost double the space because of the tradition that housewives buy these products in open air fairs. This situation has been gradually changing in the major metropolitan areas of the country.
Supermarket managers prefer to contract third party wholesale suppliers to do the basic processing and tray wrapping of fresh fruits and vegetables. From Hydrosalads, one of these wholesale suppliers, Sunnyvale received an order for the DIGI W-3600CPR, the In-line automatic wrapping system. The packaging speed, its controlled film consumption and less manipulation of the product are considerable advantages over manual tray wrapping. Hydrosalads process close to 15,000 trays per day, to deliver them at the supermarket shops early in the morning, so speed of operation is of utmost importance to their distribution logistics. Hydrosalads is very satisfied with the results, and is considering ordering another machine.
Having DIGI products in operation at companies like Hydrosalads will have an additional benefit: to increase DIGI awareness among supermarket people that frequently inspect their suppliers.
Sunnyvale hopes that retailers, as well as wholesale suppliers, will gradually realize the utility of automatic wrapping also in sections like meat, poultry and fish and at shops and at distribution centers.
