NOVUS Ukraine selected DIGI SM-5100EV for the unique design

Reported by Marina Ovechko of SYSTEM GROUP

NOVUS Ukraine has developed 18 stores ssince founded in 2009.

What is more important, stability of work or a good design? Until very recently, when selecting weighing equipment for the retail business, the external appearance of weighing equipment was not taken into account. The deciding factor had been the stable and reliable operation of equipment.

Today, to get attention from customers, the retail chains have started to open premium segment stores, They are conducting re-branding of old stores and when choosing equipment for the new stores, technical specifications are not the only thing taken into account. Nowadays, the equipment should be modern not only on the inside but on the outside as well. The design of equipment should underscore the modern style of the store.

DIGI’s model SM-5100 meets the new requirements of retailers. Thanks to SM-5100’s unique design and improvement of technical features, a chain of supermarkets NOVUS has chosen DIGI.

The first NOVUS supermarket began their operation in 2009.

The SM-5100EV with its stylish design seems to enhance the connection between an operator and a customer

In the three years since it started, “NOVUS Ukraine” has opened 18 stores with the total sales floor area of over 53,000 square meters. Until now, all 18 stores were using Mettler Toledo’s label printing scales. This was a corporate standard that was established when the first store opened. System Group has attempted repeatedly to integrate DIGI equipment, but without success.

This year, we offered the client the SM-5100 scales. And the result was - 5 new stores will be opened with SM-5100. A total of 150 units will be installed. NOVUS appreciated the external appearance and the technical capabilities of the model SM-5100. The EV (Elevated) type was of particular interest; this type has never been requested before. This is the first installation of SM-5100EV in Ukraine. We are sure that this is a great start for SM-5100 and a good example for other retailers using the equipment of other brands.

We are grateful for the support in this project provided by Shanghai Teraoka’s staff team as well as Mr. Hiroyuki Nakazato of Global Business Div. of Teraoka Seiko Co., Ltd. in Japan.
