Thai Scale’s breakthrough into the Hospitality Solution Business

Lim Hui (right), Managing Director of Thai Scale and Kiu York Tiong, Division Manager of TWS Hospitality Solutions. Mr. Lim says, “I was impressed by the innovation of DIGI Hospitality restaurant solutions and started the business. Although I knew nothing about the restaurant business then, my trust of CEO Kazuharu Teraoka’s business direction, of TWS to deliver good quality product & service excellence, as well as my trust that Thai Scale can deliver in this business, has prompted us to launch DIGI Hospitality Restaurant products in Thailand.

Mr. Lim Hui, Managing Director of Thai Scale made the decision to launch the DIGI Hospitality restaurant solution into the Thailand market one year ago. Since then, Thai Scale has sold about 100 Delious systems of the Delious Express F&B solutions in Thailand, which is a feat to Mr. Lim since it is a new venture outside of his 80 years of Weighing Scale business. Mr. Lim proudly reports good progress with this business.

“I remember vividly that the first Delious Express customer in Thailand was Amazon coffee café in the PTT gas station, whose owner is a friend of mine. It was with this first customer that we, together with Teraoka Weigh System’s (TWS) engineers learned about the specifications and requirements of the Coffee café Point of Sales system in Thailand. With our joint efforts, a localized Thai version of Delious Express was quickly developed for the Thailand market.

Thai Scale stays very much focused on the Bubble Tea and Coffee Café F&B restaurants in Thailand. These are quick serve outlets or restaurants where customers order and make payment before food are served.

Currently, our main customer, Dakasi Bubble tea chains, has more than 18 of its outlets installed with the Delious Express system and D-box, and Dakasi Bubble tea is regularly placing new orders whenever it opens new outlets. Thai Scale’s other quick serve accounts also include Happy Lemon (Thailand), Honeymoon Box, Ice Monster, Ming Mitre Coffee Café, Cha Cha Cha, and Maru Cha to name a few. These are sizeable F&B franchisee chains with outlets situated in the major cities of Bangkok, Chiangmai and Pattaya. Our latest customer “Yu” is a noodle shop, which recently installed 3 sets of the Delious Express in Bangkok’s main railways station and is expected to expand to 10 shops within 2013.

Thai Scale values every one of its customer accounts. None of its accounts had defected to other brands of Point of Sales since they installed the DIGI Delious Express solution. We proudly attribute those customers’ loyalty to DIGI product quality and Thai Scale’s high level of after-sales service standard, where service calls are entertained till 10 PM daily.

The other reasons why customers choose DIGI are its global brand standing. Thai Scale had been selling DIGI products for over 25 years in Thailand, and the business trust built over the years had also translated into customer trust for the brand. Besides, DIGI software and hardware development capabilities enable it to develop a much better integrated product, which most customers are looking for.

With the introduction of DIGI Dine in Restaurant solutions into the Thailand market, together with the strong motivation of Thai Scale personnel, we can expect more good news coming from Thailand soon.”

Ice Monster has 100 franchisees. The owner had decided to switch to DIGI Delious Express Solution for its 101th outlet because of its wonderful features.
