DIGI’s solution with SM-5500 Series adapted by Orchard Fresh

The range of SM-5000 Series working in the new exciting store

NBI installed 30 units of SM-5500 into the all-new Orchard Fresh Store located in western New York, U.S.A. The store was opened in April 2013, as the new concept store of Tops Markets, one of the leading chains in the region.

Orchard Fresh serves health-conscious consumers a unique combination of specialty foods, providing high quality fresh and organically grown products that are sourced locally and globally.

The store is 18,000 square feet and features a range of SM-5500 Series retail scales. SM-5500B and SM-5500P Plus scales are being used in the Deli, Culinary Prepared Foods, Artisan Cheese, Meat, Seafood and Wood-Fired Pizza areas. SM-5500BS self-service scales are installed in the Produce, Bulk Foods, Coffee/Tea Bar and the Olive Bar areas.

On top of the versatile features, the SM-5500’s built-in Queue Management System gives shoppers waiting in line relief by telling them an estimated waiting time. This smart system is operating in both the Meat and Deli departments to reduce walk-away shoppers and helps effectively serve customers in busy hours.
