Mollie Stone's selected SM-5500 Series for their first DIGI

In March 2013, NBI installed 11 units of SM-5500 into Mollie Stone's Markets, a chain of supermarkets located in the California Bay Area in the United States.

Since their establishment in 1985, Mollie Stone’s has been proud to work with local producers around the Bay Area to bring their customers high quality products in every aisle of their stores. Now they operate 9 stores in total.

This is their first time to select DIGI products. With a combination of SM-5500B and SM-5500P Plus models, Mollie Stone’s Markets is taking advantage of both the affordability and marketing versatility that the SM-5500 has to offer.

One of the features they liked in the SM-5500’s is being able to use Clerk Logins and Passwords to keep track of changes to Prices, Tares, and Sell-By Dates.

Another feature set up in the Mollie Stone’s scales is the ability to have PLU’s from all of their departments in the same scale, even when some of the PLU numbers are the same (i.e. different PLU # 1’s can be in the Meat, Seafood, and Bakery Departments all in the same scale). This allows them to easily change the scale to a different department.

The new SM-5500P Plus’ 12.1 inch display is currently being used in a screensaver type of mode. Mollie Stone's has loaded a number of images that relate to the department the scale is in, and those pictures rotate in order. In the future they can also use the screen to show product information tied to a particular PLU and movies.
